Bridging the distance between the mainstream music industry and one of the most isolated music scenes in the world, Nicola Pitt is the Label Manager of CAAMA Music, Australia’s oldest Aboriginal record label. Operating from the Central Australian desert region of Alice Springs, CAAMA Music has been recording, supporting and promoting Aboriginal music for more than 37 years. Its catalogue encompasses traditional songlines in various languages, as well as many of the great Aboriginal legends, such as Frank Yamma and Coloured Stone. New artists include Apakatjah, Karnage n Darknis and Alice Skye.
CAAMA Music is part of the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association, delivering culturally relevant content helping to preserve and maintain Indigenous culture.
