Isleña Antumalén

Isla Huapi, Lago Ranco - Chili

Isleña Antumalén is a soul rap singer of Mapuche Williche origin from Puel Willi Mapu or the Lake Ranco Basin. She lives on a Mapuche island called Huapi Island, hence her stage name Isleña. She began her musical and composing career in 2018 at age 19. Presenting social and political content regarding the Mapuche people with songs such as “Grito a Puel Mapu” and “Con mi Piel Morena.” In 2019, she released one of her most important songs, “Ñaña Descoloniza tu Belleza,” featuring soul singer Sahyan Soul. This single had an incredible reception by the young Mapuche audience. In 2020, she produced her first video clip, “Willi Mapu Taiñ,” which had musical arrangements for cello and transverse flute and was filmed entirely on Huapi Island. The music video is available on the artist’s Youtube channel.
