
José y el Toro is a singer, songwriter, producer, and audiovisual artist focused on reviving Latin American Melodrama. He released his first album, “Retrato,” in 2016, which captured the media’s attention for his acoustic songs with introspective and personal lyrics. This album allowed him to tour Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile, becoming one of the pioneers of Venezuela’s new singer-songwriters generation.
In 2018, he began a new stage in his artistic quest with the release of his single “De Hierro,” creating since then an emotional universe with every new release. His new music seeks to bring melodrama back to life. He combines classic Latin American genres like bolero and ballad with elements of pop and R&B. He has collaborated with YADAM, Anakena, Simon Grossman, and Ferraz. He is also featured in popular playlists such as New Music Friday Latin, Boleros Pop, Novedades Indie, etc.
