
Sortilegio Trio is a folk-fusion band from Valdivia. Born in 2010 in the Los Rios region of Chile, between old-growth forest, the South Pacific coast, and rainforest. The group has eleven years of musical and socio-educational experience. Sortilegio Trio has been recognized for the quality of its original compositions and its social commitment. They play folkloric fusion music, combined with native sounds and elements from pop music. In 2010, the three-piece researched Afro-Peruvian rhythms in the Negra Raíz Project, traveling around the national territory and abroad. A musical foundation that combines instruments and sounds from the world, opening a sonic range for the profound discourse of their lyrics, which narrate life experiences and revive the essential, the ancestral. In 2020 Sortilegio got selected to participate in the 27th edition of the Valdivia International Film Festival as part of the Regional Scene section, playing live from the Cervantes Theater. As for their socio-educational role, Sortilegio was selected among twenty other projects. They were chosen by the Artistic Education Regional Board of Los Ríos to exhibit their documentary “Uniendo Culturas, Fortaleciendo Identidades” during the Artistic Education Week of the Cultures, Arts, and Heritage Regional Office.
