La Ciencia Simple is an atmospheric rock band formed in 2014 and based in Santiago, Chile. It stands out for an original and exciting mix between progressive polyrhythmic structures and ethereal ambient layers, creating solid hypnotic atmospheres and dramatic narratives without saying a single word.

With four edited albums and a strong presence in the Chilean and Latin American independent scene, they have earned a space in the alternative and experimental circuit. This has allowed them to participate in important events such as opening for Tortoise (Chile 2016), playing at Dunk! Fest (Belgium 2017), where they shared the stage with bands like Swans, Earth, and others and performing virtually in Primavera Pro 2021.

They have toured Europe (2017), Argentina (2018), Chile (2017, 2018, 2019, 2019, 2020, and 2022), and Mexico (2019). Currently made up of Rienzi Valencia, Gonzalo Valencia, Edgar Sandoval, and Yaney Salgado, the band is preparing to release their fourth studio album recorded by producer John McEntire (Tortoise, Stereolab) in Portland, OR.
