Tortuganónima is an instrumental rock quartet from Santiago founded in 2012, formed by Gérard Bertin (guitars/synth), Gabriel Molina (guitar), Benjamin Luna (bass guitar/ samples/synth), and Diego Wigodski (drums/samples/MIDI controllers).
They stand out by using effects and loops on guitars, bass lines fueled by pedals, and spasmodic rhythms on drums. Their sound navigates between Math-Rock and Post-Rock, with some notes of Noise-Rock, Progressive Rock, and Ambient.
The band has drawn international attention from math-rock fans and critics as well. The quartet has expanded its audience by touring in the United States, Japan, Spain, Belgium, and several Latin American countries.
