Ignacio Ruiz

Chile – Santiago

Ignacio Ruiz is an artist from southern Chile, born in Ancud, on the island of Chiloé. His childhood was spent playing basketball and soccer, while music entered his life during his adolescence. At 16, he began writing his first songs, discovering that his destiny was linked to the art world. After studying Music Production, he decided to dedicate himself fully to his professional career, releasing his first two EPs: Canciones para una compañera de trabajo (Songs for a Coworker) and Fulbo (Soccer). In 2023, he released the singles Solo Solín Solito and Sin Preocuparme, venturing into the corrido genre. These songs served as previews of his EP Corridos Chilenos Vol, 1 (Chilean Corridos Vol, 1). In February 2024, he released Nuevo Himno de Xiloé, a significant milestone in his career. The song, inspired by his people and the reality of the islanders—often hidden by the country’s centralism—has reached more than 500,000 plays on Spotify and YouTube. This year, as part of Virgin Music Chile, Ignacio is releasing his album Corridos Chilenos Vol, 2 (Chilean Corridos Vol, 2), which includes songs such as XOKÓ, ÑAÑEZ, Regional Chileno, and Juanga, as well as collaborations with national artists Shirel, Julianno Sosa, Rolando Fino, Primer Corte, and Alex Sinatra. With this album, he seeks to consolidate his artistic and musical identity.
