ARTIST FLUVIAL
El VIDOCQ
After founding his own independent record label in 1992, he first produced over a hundred albums (Rubin Steiner, Bikini Machine, Champagne Champagne, Zimpala, etc!), before shifting his attention to re- releases. In just over 7 years, El Vidocq has become an internationally renowned sampler, boasting over 25 compilations to date. The quality of his Mambo, Cha Cha Cha and Calypso selections has earned him unanimous praise, thanks to his 4 thematic compilations, not to mention the snowballing success of his ‘O-Rama’ series.
The eclecticism of his furious mixes has seen him invited to perform at clubs and festivals throughout France and around the world (USA, Japan, South Africa, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, etc.). Stylishly surfing through such varied musical styles as Rhythm’ n’ Blues, Boogaloo, Surf, Cumbia, Afro- Beat, Soul, Rockabilly, Mambo, Rock, Doo Wop, Garage, Latin Jazz and Yé-Yé, he ever-so-carefully and – tastefully selects his singles by delving into his own incredible personal collection, a veritable treasure trove of groove. Always on the look out for new vinyl nuggets as he crisscrosses the planet, he continually renews and replenishes this inexhaustible stock of superb singles.
