El Nido (ES)

Burgos – España

The universe of El Nido sounds like a frying pan and a tin of paprika, smells like a modern village festival, and tastes like a jota and a town square. Their compositions draw inspiration from the sounds and rhythms of the traditional music of Castilla y León, as a way of seeking orientation and identity in an increasingly fast-paced and turbulent present.

Their latest LP, LA CONSTANCIA (2025), offers a truly unique vision of traditional music through modern eyes and ears, while preserving its vital, moving, and increasingly daring essence.

Their approach to folklore is more tangible and original than ever, taking us through agudillos, jotas de ronda, ajechaos, charros, and other traditional dance rhythms that continue to flow through their music, always dressed in the sounds of the household instruments that have long accompanied the oral tradition.

The album features musical production by two masters of the craft: Diego Galaz (Fetén Fetén, La M.O.D.A., Rozalén), as well as Hevi (Novedades Carminha, Caamaño & Ameixeiras) on three of the tracks. Collaborations with Rozalén, Rodrigo Cuevas, and Neomak make LA CONSTANCIA a deeply rooted celebration of the rich Iberian folk tradition, reimagining the contemporary village festival we so desperately need.
