Fluvial presents its tenth anniversary with more than 50 artists, international guests and a historic program

Fluvial celebrates its tenth anniversary with a historic edition. From December 9th to 12th, Valdivia will bring together more than 50 artists, a diverse professional program, and international delegations from strategic markets for Chilean music. This initial announcement marks the start of accreditation sales and a series of new features that will be revealed in the coming months, leading up to an edition specially designed to commemorate the event’s tenth anniversary.

For a decade, Fluvial has helped transform how Chilean music connects with the world. From Valdivia, the festival has brought together artists, professionals, festivals, labels, institutions, Indigenous communities, other productive sectors, and diverse creative communities from different continents, establishing itself as one of Latin America’s leading music and creative industry events and projecting Chile as a key player on the international circuit.

The 2026 edition will mark the beginning of a celebration that will permeate its entire program. Fluvial will feature an outstanding artistic selection, a robust professional program, unprecedented international participation, a range of experiences linked to tourism, gastronomy, and nightlife, along with a series of events that will revisit the major themes that have defined its history, projecting them toward the challenges of the next decade. With this initial announcement, the countdown to a historic edition officially begins, with new milestones to be revealed in the coming months.

This year, Fluvial has funding from the Fund for the Promotion of National Music, 2026 Call of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage.

This selection includes artists from Valdivia, Concepción, Santiago, Valparaíso, Temuco, San Antonio, and other cities, continuing the event’s commitment to decentralization. The artistic program will continue to grow during the coming months with new announcements dedicated to the classical, jazz, electronic, metal, indigenous music, experimental scenes and new international guests, completing the lineup of an edition specially conceived to celebrate ten years.

Programmers and international delegations

Fluvial 2026 will feature the participation of prominent programmers, festival directors, and representatives of musical organizations from strategic markets for Chilean music.

Among the first confirmed professionals are David Torreblanca, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Booking for the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), where he leads the operation, booking strategy, and musical programming of one of the world’s most renowned festivals; Sofía Gerding (Charco / Radar Madrid, Spain), who fosters connections between artists in Europe and Latin America; Alfredo Caxaj (Sunfest, Canada), whose festival has consistently promoted the programming of Chilean artists in North America; and María Catalina Prieto (Filarmed, Colombia), a leading Latin American figure in innovation and cultural management.

The first official delegation confirmed will be Sounds From Spain, kicking off a series of six international delegations that will be announced in the coming months. The delegation will consist of Gorka Recio (Ren-Core Event), Patricia Fernández (El Tragaluz), Hanna Plum (Sonido Muchacho), Rocío Royo Durán (Espacio C), Pablo Rodríguez (Sounds From Spain / A.R.T.E. / La Agencia Music), and Marina Fernández (Plataforma Jazz España), forming a prominent representation of the Spanish music ecosystem. The Plataforma Jazz España will join the activities of the Ibero-American Jazz Platform, where they will present the progress of the international study currently being conducted by this network.

This will be the first in a series of announcements, solidifying the event as the leading international networking platform for Chilean music and a space from which to continue promoting new initiatives for the development of the music industry.

A decade of conversations to imagine the future

To mark its tenth anniversary, Fluvial will present a special curated program for its professional programming, bringing together for the first time the major themes that have shaped the evolution of the event and the music industry over the past decade.

Since its inception, Fluvial has understood that music engages with much more than just the industry itself. Musical urbanism, tourism, media, sustainability, First Nations, cultural revitalization, territories, creative ecosystems, audiovisual media, the nightlife economy, early childhood development, audience building, internationalization, and global networks have all been part of an ongoing conversation that has accompanied the event’s development and anticipated many of the discussions that now define the sector’s agenda.

In 2026, these themes will converge once again in a single program to examine what has changed, what lessons have been learned at each stage, and what the challenges of the next decade will be, solidifying Fluvial as one of the leading spaces for reflection, exchange, and promotion for the Latin American music industry.

Ten years after its inception, Fluvial celebrates a decade of promoting Chilean music from Valdivia to the world. What began as an independent event has solidified into an international platform for artists, a space for knowledge exchange and networking, and a community of professionals and artists in constant collaboration, helping to position Valdivia as a leading city for the Latin American music industry.

The 2026 edition encapsulates a decade that has seen the participation of over 3,000 professionals, more than 500 international delegates, and over 400 musical projects, with a tangible impact on the careers of numerous artists and professionals. Furthermore, it has generated economic and image benefits for the city and the Los Ríos Region, strengthening an intersectoral ecosystem at the national and regional levels. This edition commemorates this journey and opens a new chapter to further strengthen the international reach of Chilean music from the Southern Hemisphere.

Fluvial’s tenth anniversary is a celebration open to its entire community: artists, professionals, institutions, the public, and those who have been part of this story over the past decade.

KEY PARTNERSHIPS 2025

Fluvial 2024©

Fluvial 2025 is built through a network of partnerships that strengthen its territorial, professional, and international dimensions. This year, the support of Banco Santander as the official bank helps boost the professional activities and support the showcases held at Teatro Regional Cervantes, one of the event’s central venues.

At the institutional level, Sernatur Los Ríos and the Municipality of Valdivia reinforce the connection between the city, tourism, and culture, consolidating Valdivia as a creative hub and a meeting point for music and territory. The Regional Government of Los Ríos, through the FIC Creative and Tourism Hub Los Ríos project and FIC START Universidad Santo Tomás Valdivia, strengthens intersectoral collaboration and supports the internationalization of local products and services. Universidad Austral de Chile continues to serve as the academic and logistical anchor for the event, while the National Music Fund Secretariat of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, and ProChile have once again been key in developing Fluvial’s conference program and international guest agenda.

In the digital sphere, Fluvial integrates ONErpm, The Orchard, Random Sounds, Merlin, and the RONDA Cooperative—a combination that brings together global and cooperative models of distribution, services, and rights management for artists and labels. The Orchard is also supporting Fluvial’s sustainability initiatives, particularly the actions related to waste management and the elimination of single-use plastics.

The independent sector is represented through WIN, IMICHILE, the Electronic Music Guild (IME), and Chilemúsica, whose work in professional development, internationalization, and industry coordination sustains the delegate program, business meetings, and specialized networking.

In media and communications, Radio Futuro, Rockaxis, Solo Artistas Chilenos, and POTQ Magazine stand out as key partners who amplify the event’s reach and connect its content with national and international audiences.

From the south, collaborations with Ladera Volcán and the Festival Reino Fungi ecosystem reinforce the relationship between music, nature, and territory, integrating creative scenes from Araucanía and the lake district.

Finally, the support of CONADI, ProChile, and the Embassy of Canada in Chile broadens international presence and strengthens the program dedicated to Indigenous Peoples and First Nations, reinforcing pan-American cultural cooperation.

These partnerships enhance the international, territorial, and professional dimensions of Fluvial, expanding its impact and projection within the independent music ecosystem.

Fluvial 2025 presents a showcase program built in thematic blocks that explore the breadth of Chilean and international music. Performances take place across various points in Valdivia—urban spaces, heritage venues, and riverfront locations—connecting creation, territory, and community. The curation brings together regional identities, roots music, alternative pop, independent rock, diverse branches of electronic music, hip hop, jazz, experimental sounds, and projects that expand the contemporary sonic landscape, with a special focus on emerging scenes and aesthetic intersections.

Thursday opens the festival with a journey through contemporary roots music, emerging pop, independent avant-garde, and digital experimentation, connecting local venues such as El Regreso Beer Company, Teatro Regional Cervantes, and Bivaldi. Friday deepens the convergences between indie, singer-songwriter traditions, urban music, and exploratory electronic sounds, articulating parallel routes that reflect the broad diversity shaping today’s Chilean and Latin American music ecosystems.

Saturday proposes a journey through territory, memory, and new sonic narratives: from intimate concerts along the river to blocks of roots music, hybrid folk, Chilean pop-rock, mestizo psychedelia, and audiovisual and electronic explorations scattered throughout the city. Sunday will close with a special program to be announced soon.

Together, the Fluvial 2025 showcases map out a diverse soundscape deeply connected to Valdivia and its surroundings. The full program is available here.

SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTERNATIONAL DELEGATES

Fluvial 2025 introduces a second wave of international delegates that significantly expands the event’s global presence. From Europe, representatives from Black Pata Music and Propaganda Pel Fet SCCL join the lineup, along with Marta Caporaletti from the independent label Undamento and Lorenzo Possanzini from Assoconcerti, strengthening ties with key live music and cultural management scenes in Italy and Spain.

The international network also broadens with the return of our friends from Sounds Australia, represented by Esti Zilber and Nathaniel Andrew, reinforcing connections with Oceania and opening new pathways for Latin American artists and professionals. From Latin America, the FIC Creative and Tourism Hub Los Ríos confirms the participation of Tina Wrobleski and David Gómez, deepening cooperation among the music scenes of southern Chile, Colombia, and Canada across both creative industries and music tourism.

In the digital field, Sylvie Piccolotto of ONErpm, Antonio Acevedo from The Orchard, and Víctor Schlesinger from Ronda Co-op join the program, contributing complementary visions on distribution, digital governance, fair economy, and alternative models for the independent ecosystem.

In a dedicated block, the renowned manager Leonardo Pavkovic joins Fluvial. Founder of MoonJune Records and director of the MoonJune Festival, Pavkovic has spent more than two decades fostering global circulation for emblematic artists such as Soft Machine and Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), connecting Fluvial with high-level international networks in advanced music, improvisation, and experimental scenes.

This announcement also includes Mathieu Rousseau, Senior Manager of Booking, Concerts & Events at Spectra, responsible for programming the Montréal International Jazz Festival—the largest jazz festival in the world. His participation aligns with that of Paloma Estévez (Lincoln Center, New York) and Alejandro Flores (Undersecretary for Major Community Festivals, Ministry of Culture, Mexico City), forming a high-impact block of North American programmers with real capacity to open circulation opportunities for Chilean projects.

With this new update, Fluvial 2025 consolidates one of its most diverse and strategic delegations, extending bridges between Chile, Europe, North America, Latin America, and Oceania.
